6:45 – 7:30 AM – Starts at Kaldi Kapra Coffee House - Getting ready:
Receive our hikers, and make sure their reservations match the manifest document
Enjoy breakfast with the group going up that day!
7:30 – 8:30 AM – Assist hikers and support group organization during the shuttle ride from Antigua to the supply center.
Give a short 2-minute orientation explaining what guests can expect throughout the day.
Make sure hikers know they can come to you if they have any questions or needs (key).
8:30 – 9:30 AM – Preparation for the hike at the supply center:
While our supply center manager is giving the complete briefing to the hikers check that our gear on the cabins is enough and if there isn't any ripped or missing zippers on the jackets.
- Make sure all gear (such as buffs, scarves, etc.) is clean and smells fresh.
Check if we have enough poles, backpacks and headlamps.
- Check if hikers need help to find the right clothing and address any questions they may have about the hike.
- Ensure that all participants feel supported and have everything they need to begin their journey
During this time, we need to give the best customer service!
9:30 – 10:00 AM - Waiting for other group to arrive back to the supply center
Check that the merchandise section in the supply center is properly stocked.
10:00 – 11:30 AM – Return of the group that hiked the day before:
Engage with the group to know how did the guides treated them
Ask how was the pace for each person (speed, breaks and if they didn't felt rushed)
How was the food (good, enough etc)
11:30 – 12:30 AM – Ride the bus back to Antigua with the group.
Extra Tasks:
- Occasionally, you may need to run small errands in the afternoon to restock the supply center.
- Take on little side projects that you think might improve our services. Your input is valued!
